Free Viagra???

Happy Friday everyone. Now my blog usually features the random events and activities of my day-to-day life, but this morning I saw a news segment that I just had to share.

PFIZER TO GIVE FREE VIAGRA AND OTHER DRUGS TO THE UNEMPLOYED


Yep, that's right America. Pfizer, the world's biggest drug maker, has offered to give away more than 70 of its most widely prescribed drugs, including Lipitor and Viagra, for up to a year to unemployed Americans. Now that's one way to stimulate the economy. : )

There is a catch though - the free drugs are only available to people who have lost their jobs since Jan. 1, 2009, and have been taking the drug via prescription for a minimum of three months. Applicants will have to sign a statement stating that they are suffering financial hardship, and provide a "pink slip" or similar employer notice. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 31, 2009 with medication provided for up to 12 months after approval - or until the person becomes insured again.
