Zoey Week 7!

Zoey and I went back home to visit my family in Manteca this past weekend and to attend a 1st birthday party for my friend Melissa's daughter, Olivia. We had a nice visit with grandma, grandpa, Auntie Leah and cousin Hayden. And Liv's 1st birthday was so much fun - I got to catch up with my girlfriends from high school (Andy, Leanne & Melissa) and they got to meet Zoey for the first time. Fun! ; )

Off to visit Grandma & Grandpa Backes!

This weekend Zoey and I are going back to Manteca to stay with my parents....and we can't wait! I know Zoey loves her Grandma & Grandpa Backes very much, and I know my parents can't wait to see their new granddaughter again soon!

Zoey is growing up so fast!

It is amazing how much Zoey grows and changes everyday! This week she has become much more aware of her environment, and is starting to focus on toys and objects in her range of vision. She is also making new coos and babbling noises - so cute! She is gaining more control of her neck and made great progress lifting up her head during tummy time. And yesterday I think she even smiled at me! But is is hard to tell yet if that smile was related to my silly voices or gas... : )

I love my cats!

Now that Zoey is here, our cats are definitely feeling neglected. I do my best to spend quality time with them and show them love when I can, but unfortunately they are no longer the center of our universe. : ) So in honor of my feline brood, here are some recent pictures of my fur babies.

My new haircut!

For years I've straightened my hair despite it's natural wave. I'd occasionally style it curly to get a unique look, but normally I opted for a straight style. However, now that I'm a new mom I need a hairstyle that is quick and easy - so I opted to get a new cut that works with the natural wave in my hair. And I LOVE it! It feels so light and natural, and I can't wait to experiment with it on my own. What do you think?

My lunch today....YUM!

A homemade chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich....and the bread is even homemade too from my bread maker. Needless to say it was delicious! : )
