Never has there been another person possessing your combination of abilities, aspirations and experience…nor will there ever be again. This is the one stretch in the infinite span of time when you get to be here. Appreciating the full
onederment of what and who you are boosts your ability to make the most of it.
(Reading time 180 seconds)

You were born lucky. On delivery you had all the innate abilities to live an exceptionally happy and rewarding life. You possess today amazing, truly phenomenal capabilities and the world invites you to connect to it in wondrous ways. Fully recognizing and appreciating those FACTS magnifies your achievements and enjoyments from everyday life.

Here are some of those wonderful facts about you:

You grew and replaced 50 million cells in your body all while you read this sentence.

Pound for pound your bones are stronger than steel. A block of bone the size of a matchbox can support 9 tons.

You have approximately 60,000 miles of blood vessels, enough to circle the earth two times.

But your primary wonder instrument is your brain. Between your ears lies one of the most complex and powerful structures in the universe. You possess more synapses, the connections that fire your brain every moment, than there are grains of sand on a mile of beach. Those 150 trillion synapses and the neurons they connect are the keys to your experiencing the universe, storing those experiences and reasoning and reacting to the world around you.

If you compared just your memory capacity to a video recorder, your brain could hold a minimum of three million hours of TV, the equivalent of leaving the television running continuously for more than 300 years. Not that it would be a great use of your brain.

…But You Are Particularly Onederful

So all of us as humans possess amazingly capable brains and bodies. But what makes you unique, totally onederful, is the more than a quadrillion potential permutations that come from the way you experience the world around you every day and your unique reactions to those experiences. You have a phenomenal capacity and the outcome of that capacity is totally unique from what has or will ever exist on earth again. Don’t waste it.

Instead of recording 300 years of television, better to use a small part of your brain to learn and store all the knowledge in the Encyclopedia Britannica or at least the equivalent of what’s most relevant to you. That would leave plenty of room to give a few seconds of focus to retain each of the hundreds of things of beauty, kindness and happiness that pass before your eyes and enter your ears each day.

Still oodles of brain space left to retain all the skills necessary to master any profession you decide to diligently pursue as well as stay current with the world, local and personal events occurring. And after a normal lifetime of learning and growing and using your abilities to embrace life’s marvels, you will still have 80% or more of your mental storage capacity left. Recognize that power you possess inside your head to shape your thoughts, your body and the world outside you to your liking.

And You Are Surrounded By Onederful People

But that’s not all! In addition to you, there is a world of onederful individuals surrounding you that will help you accomplish and enjoy your aspirations in foreseeable and unpredictable ways. Your world becomes a better place not only when you recognize, honor and truly appreciate your own powerful uniqueness but also that of every person on earth, each person you come in contact with today…even if you don’t like them. They are a wonder. Don’t dismiss them.

Because there are billions of people on earth we have the luxury to be selective in our associations. But that should not diminish the great respect we should hold for the awesome, powerful oneder of every individual we encounter.

Imagine for whatever reason the human population was suddenly reduced to just you and one other person…someone you currently dislike. Over time would you not seek out the onederment of that individual’s 150 trillion synaptic connections? As beautiful as nature can be, nothing else that existed on earth could offer up to you the positive possibilities of that one complex powerful human being.

As I was working on this article my wife forwarded me this quote from Pablo Casals one of the world’s greatest cello players and a truly wonderful man.

“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again. And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are?

We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move.

You may become a Shakespeare, a Michaelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel?"

Your own uniqueness is one of the few really important things in life. It is of great consequence that you deeply get that, appreciate that, for your own sake. You truly are onederful. Dwell on that fact for a minute.

Then go and share your oneders with those of an awaiting world and help each person you encounter recognize how truly onederful they are as well.

Smiles,
