On hiatus until further notice....

Hello readers,
In summary, "my cup runneth over". Between my demanding career and full-time job, our recent move and condo sale, being a mother and wife and other family commitments, travel for summer conferences, pregnancy fatigue, preparing for little brother's arrival later this fall, my need to find time for exercise (and sleep!), on top of trying to still maintain a social life and some SANITY, I've decided to take a little break from my blog.

So as of now "The Randomness of Life" is on hiatus until further notice. I hope to resume writing when I can regain a bit more balance and free time (maybe on maternity leave??), but for now I am choosing to simplify where I can.

Belated Mother's Day Post

 We spent a relaxing Mother's day out in Manteca the other weekend visiting with my parents and enjoying the warm summer-like weather.  Zoey got to play baseball for the first time and had a blast playing in the sprinklers.  A busy hot day with no nap led to one tuckered out Z during our car ride back to the Bay.  :)

 

 

 

Park Street Fair Fun!

We love taking advantage of the funfilled annual Park Street festivals here in Alameda that are held every May and July.  Last weekend we ventured out to the Spring Fling with Zoey and we all had fun window shopping at the booths, visiting the petting zoo, eating kettle corn, and watching the "big kids" flip around in giant bubbles.  It was a lovely day.

 

 

Happy 60th Birthday Mom!

Today David and I took my mom out to lunch to celebrate her 60th birthday! We treated ourselves to a delicious lunch and ice cream sundaes at Fenton's....delish! What a lovely day celebrating my dear mommy!

Friday night fun!

Last Friday Zoey got to eat at the couch on a TV tray for the first time, which just MADE her day! And we got pizza too, so it was an extra special evening of fun. :)

Goslings!

Nothing quite connotes Springtime like baby animals! And while I'm not really a fan of adult geese (they kinda scare me to be honest), I just love their adorable little yellow puff-ball babies! Took these photos while walking in Alameda's Washington park the other day. :)

Yummers!

I've always had a sweet tooth, but it has intensified 10 fold with my pregnancy! Speaking of sweets, last Saturday I enjoyed a lovely dinner out with my dear friend Andy who is also expecting, and this was our shared dessert treat at Elephant Bar. Super yum! :)

Face Painting/Party Fun!

We hung out with our friends Meriah, Mikey, Micah, Moxie and Mac at their joint birthday celebration on Saturday, and Zoey was so excited to have her face painted.  So fun! :)

 

 

Our Little Curly-Q'd Artist

Z's favorite activity lately is coloring and drawing - she just loves to sit at her little table marking art.  And look at how long her hair is getting! :) 

 

 

 

It's a….BOY!

We are so excited to welcome little brother into our lives later this Fall!  I am still in shock that we're having a boy…..one of each - how fun! :)
